A. John Geis

About the Author:
A. John Geis, a registered professional engineer, is currently a consultant to the graphic communications industries. He has over thirty-five years of experience in the printing industry in engineering and management positions, including twelve years as technical services director at the Graphic Arts Technical Foundation. One of his accomplishments during his career at GATF was development of the Printing Plant Layout and Facility Design workshop. That workshop led to his writing Printing Plant Layout and Facility Design, which was published by GATF in 1991 with the second edition published in 1997. Geis also co-authored Materials Handling for the Printer. Geis holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue University and an M.B. A. from Ohio State University. He is an elected fellow of PIA/GATF and the Institute of Industrial Engineers.
